It’s almost that time of year again when Santa and his elves will once again be visiting our village! This has been a longstanding tradition that has been funded for many years from monies raised by The Cross Keys, the sleigh fund being established by my late mum, Mo and carried on by my late dad, Rossi. Myself and Ade are now carrying this on and are asking for support from the whole village in raising funds to keep this going.
Santa will be arriving on his sleigh at The Cross Keys, @ 6pm on Christmas eve. Prior to this, children will have the opportunity to post their letters to Santa in our special North Pole Express mail box which can be found in the pub from Friday 9th Dec until Santa arrives on Christmas eve to collect them all!
To enable us to continue the tradition of providing Santa with enough chocolate treats to hand out to all the children as he travels through the village on his sleigh, we need to establish how many selection boxes we need to purchase. This year to obtain a rough estimate we are asking that parents/ grandparents/ guardians collect a ticket that can be obtained from behind the bar in the pub for each child that they would like a selection box off Santa for on Christmas eve. (There is no charge for the tickets and ALL children present will receive a gift from Santa, this is simply so we have an idea of the numbers to cater for).
Villagers are more than welcome to buy numbers on our Christmas draw (£1 a number) which is the main source of funding for Santa’s sleigh, and the number board will be up in the pub from Friday 9th Dec. We would also be very grateful for any donations of raffle prizes, these can be dropped off at the pub at anytime. All of your kind support helps to ensure that this magical event is able to continue for many more years to come! If anybody has any questions or would like to volunteer to assist with fundraising please don’t hesitate to contact us or pop in to the pub to see us!
Thankyou in advance and Merry Christmas to you all from The Cross Keys
Jo & Ade
